Do you believe that it is okay to “drink socially” or have a relaxing glass of alcohol after a long day at work? Maybe that is okay for you, but for some, it can be difficult to stop drinking before it is too late!

What is harmful is when you drink alcohol every day, especially when some of those days you might have a few too many.  Constant alcohol use fogs your brain, steals your life force, and destroys your ambition. Is there a way how to help someone stop drinking?

Highly functional individuals are often susceptible to alcohol dependence.  Sometimes we are proud of the fact that we can work hard, play hard, and sleep well at night!

Sound familiar?

Alcohol is often seen as that reward after working hard.

Even so, after a while alcohol begins to have the opposite effect of why you started, it actually starts to build up the stress, but you continue drinking just to try to avoid stress.

Yes – drinking alcohol is a vicious cycle.

If you’re ready to control the alcohol habit, or if you would like to know how to help someone stop drinking, then keep reading, we just might have the answer…

Alcohol is a Vicious Cycle because it is Addictive!

It is a social myth that “alcohol is not addictive”.  We all believed this in the beginning but now maybe you’re starting to think differently.

Here’s some validation for what you’re going through right now:

  • Millions of people drink alcohol – not everyone seems to get addicted?
  • But some people DO get addicted – we know that is true!
  • Some people become dependent – but still seem functional
  • What about the other health issues – do you know that drinking alcohol has been proven to increase the risk of getting cancer?

Most people just argue that this is scare tactics by the government aimed at discouraging people from drinking too much alcohol.

Okay, fine.  Let’s look at it in a different way:

  • Almost 1500 people per day from around the world search the internet with words like “how to quit drinking alcohol”.
  • More than 500,000 people per year looking for a solution to alcohol dependence.

So you are not alone and that this is a real problem for a lot of people.

But it’s a problem that can be solved in the safety and security of your own home, that won’t coast you a lot of money, or need you to buy medicine or take drugs,  Yes there is a way how to help someone stop drinking – with no fuss!

Our Mission at Love Being Alcohol Free:

We want to show you how to stop drinking and stay stopped.  Simple.

Let us introduce ourselves, we are Tony and Sonya.  We are not trained addiction professionals; we are not psychologists, or doctors.  We just want to share with your our secret for how to help someone stop drinking alcohol and love being alcohol free.  We started this site after developing our own method to get control of the alcohol habit.

All we want to do show you a simple method how to quit drinking alcohol and then share with you the self paced program that we used to stop drinking successfully after 25 years of drinking alcohol.

We want to emphasise that we do not judge people for their personal choices, but we on a mission to help people overcome alcohol dependence at home, in the comfort of their own surroundings.

But if you are looking for the best way how to help someone stop drinking, first let’s consider some of the different options:

1. Stop Drinking Alcohol with Will Power or “go cold turkey”

If you have already tried will power to stop drinking alcohol, and it hasn’t worked, then you will understand how difficult it is to stop drinking alcohol using will power alone.  The longer you have been drinking alcohol, the more likely will power by itself is not going to work.

The reason is due to the physical and psychological withdrawal symptoms.

For some of us, this makes us feel like something is missing and we feel like we are denying something and this just creates the feeling of lack and loss.  For others, your body rebels against you own will power, with intense feelings of cravings and awful side effects.   Either way, you are up against serious physical reactions that your body believes will be fixed if you only have a small glass of alcohol, which is actually failure, and this is why will power does not work.

While will power will play a role in the process of quitting, it will only be effective once you have an informed strategy for dealing with these very real withdrawal symptoms.

2. Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous is a traditional treatment option and help for alcoholics, which has provided alcohol relief for a lot of desperate people over a long period of time, and we applaud the efforts of everyone who works within this highly honorable organization.

But it is not for everyone, and we never considered that we would use AA.  If you do not want to attend Alcoholics Anonymous classes, and are looking for an alcohol treatment that you can use to quit alcohol in your own home, then we offer a different alternative to quit drinking without AA.

AA has lots of information on alcohol dependence and their strategy has proven beneficial for some people.

They operate with a 12 step program that has been developed over a long period of time, and has been proven to work for some people.

The problem with Alcoholics Anonymous and their method is that it has become outdated for our modern lifestyle, and unfortunately only has a success rate of around 5%, which only proves it is difficult to offer help for alcoholics who don’t want help.   If this method is not attractive for you, then there is a better way how to quit alcohol on your own and in your own home.

3. Alcohol Rehab

Checking into an alcohol rehabilitation clinic requires a serious financial and time commitment.  The rest of your life goes on hold in alcohol rehab but for good reason if you have a life threatening addiction to alcohol or for hard drugs like methamphetamine, or cocaine, or heroin.

So is rehab necessary for alcohol dependence?

It is certainly a good treatment for alcoholism, but what if you can’t afford the expense or the time?

Alcohol dependence can take hold in varying levels of life threatening abuse and if you decide that you want to escape from the alcohol trap, before it completely takes over your life, then we can show you a perfectly safe and effective way to quit drinking in the security of your own home, with no shame, embarrassment.  In particular, we offer a method that does not require you to attend expensive clinics, or take expensive medical treatments to reach the goal of living and loving an alcohol free life.

4. Medical Treatment

Seeking help from a physician for alcohol dependence ought to be a viable solution but unfortunately it can be a mixed bag.  Alcohol dependence is still a relatively misunderstood concept even in the medical profession, who tend to treat the symptoms, but don’t have the tools to deal with the causes of the problem.  Some doctors don’t believe in Medication to Stop Drinking Alcohol.

Some doctors will be understanding and may offer a pharmaceutical solution of some sort even though there is currently no universally accepted medical treatment that is guaranteed to successfully cure everyone.  If you are lucky, the most understanding family doctor might recommend some sort of counseling, but in our experience, you may not find a comprehensive alcohol treatment program that you need.  You might find that you are not taken seriously, the doctor might be dismissive or judgemental, or you might get short term help that just does not solve the long term problem of drinking too much alcohol.

5. Addiction Counseling

If you are desperate for a solution to drinking too much alcohol, then you might choose psychotherapy from a psychiatrist, psychologist, or licensed social worker.  Counseling can be a really useful way to deal with dependence or addiction issues.  A counselor can help you sort out all sorts of life’s problems and oftentimes it’s the underlying issues that cause substance abuse.

However, like alcohol rehabilitation, counseling requires a significant time and monetary commitment , and is generally not covered under your health insurance

Also, you have to be aware that counselors, like doctors, can have personal opinions around alcohol dependence, and you might not get the full care treatment that can help you to get right to the solution of the problem.

Sometimes we just need someone to offer alcohol help, right?

If none of these options works for you – then you are in luck – we have a better way!
