Are you proud of your beer belly?
Look around at the fine stature of our fellow men, and I wish we could be proud of what we see – but unfortunately that is not always the case, and the beer belly seems to be getting bigger and more popular.
It is not easy to hide. It is right in front of us. For all to see… A big round beer belly is nothing to be proud of. It is not healthy to have a big round tummy full of fat, and goodness only knows what else is in there. It is not a good look to have a bigger beer belly than the man next to you. And no, it is not something worth while spending all your valuable time and money on developing into something bigger and better. A beer belly is not something to be proud of!
Unfortunately, it seems some people are proud of their “hard earned” beer belly stature, but do we really know what a beer belly is, and if we did understand it a bit better, would we still be happy to walk around with such a large inflamed organ out in front for everyone to see?
What causes a beer belly?
Now it is true that not all bulging tummies are caused solely by the massive consumption of beer, but I think we all agree it would be difficult to get a beer belly without some amount of poor lifestyle choices involved, and drinking beer, or wine or spirits would be top of the list for most people if they were to take a serious look at their lifestyle choices. Sure excessive calories, poor diet, excessive salt intake, and even constipation might contribute to the condition, but we all know where the root of the problem lies – that is drinking too much alcohol.
Why is the beer belly hard and not floppy?
This is a serious question, because many people seem to think a beer belly is acceptable, and somehow different from simply being fat. But it is fat, and there is some bad news – a beer belly is made up of bad fat, even worse than simply being overweight and carrying a load of padding that is evenly spread around your body. A beer belly is made up of fat around the internal organs, which is called visceral fat, and this is much worse than simply being overweight. Visceral fat is packed around your internal organs and is packed tightly inside your abdomen so that there is no room for any wobbles or wiggles. This is not funny, and this is not good.
What is bad about a beer belly?
A big solid beer belly may feel hard and solid to touch, but it is not a sign of strength or muscle. Quite the opposite, a beer belly is making you weak. Visceral fat is responsible for all sorts of poor health such as diabetes, heart disease, hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, stroke and a risk of early death.
So how do you get rid of a beer belly?
Depending on how long you have been hanging out (no pun intended) with your bulging spare tire, you will have to make some serious lifestyle changes if you want to prolong your life expectancy. Medical advice is to avoid alcohol and other excess calories, improve dietary habits (I didn’t say you need to go on a diet), avoid processed foods, and slowly build up to a fitness regime. Of course, you may not be able to make all of these changes at the same time, but you will certainly need to develop a positive attitude around making change, and sticking to it. A Beer Belly is a risk to your health and if you don’t make some changes, the outcomes are not attractive.
Avoid Alcohol – stop drinking every night!
Now I hear the protests starting. If you haven’t got the time to devote to cooking healthy meals, or time to exercise every day, or the fitness levels to hit the gym for a high intensity work out, then there are some alternatives. Reduce the amount of time you spend drinking alcohol, or stop drinking every night. Alcohol is a thief, and steals your valuable time and health. Drinking stops you from making healthy choices, and alcohol is a poor lifestyle anyway. You can save so much time by not drinking alcohol every night, and you can channel some of that negative energy into much healthier pursuits, such as cooking or walking, or spending time with family.
You would be amazed at how much better you feel when you stop drinking every night, and start feeling free from the grip of alcohol. I know this is true because that’s how it is for me!
The best part is I can show you how to quit drinking alcohol in the comfort of your own home, with no pain, no embarrassment and no humiliation. Even better – you can do it just 10 days.
